It's time to move again...

I can't believe it's almost June.  I have hundreds of photos to dig through, and considering my last post was Easter, still quite a few posts to get to in the meantime.  We are doing great here in Raleigh-  my work has been busy (hence the delinquency on my own photos), Finn is RUNNING, TALKING, SINGING, and we are about to close on our house! At the beginning of March, we found a home built in 1901 in one of our favorite Raleigh neighborhoods, and we love it.  The following photos were from quite awhile ago, and Finn has grown even more since they were taken,  but I wanted to make sure that all was going to go through with the plans before I shared too much.  We close next Thursday!

Easter dress

An Easter Sunday "formal" shoot-  the little rough and tumble girl got all dressed up in a dress that actually belonged to me.  My childhood portrait was done in this dress- both my parents have it hanging on their walls, and my mom did a great job keeping it in beautiful shape.  It is, however, the only thing about her that looks like me!

1st haircut...

In the middle of all the Easter egg hunting, I decided it was time to say good-bye to Finn's precious rat-tail she had been sporting for a few weeks (months?)...  I am really not excited about admitting that my child had a rat-tail, but it's all about memories, so there it is... or was.
I was too afraid to cut her hair myself-  fear of making it look really bad, fear of Finn turning her head too quickly- fear of not being able to photograph the moment while chopping at her hair... so my mom braved the scissors and went for it.  No. Joke. We had to pull her away from the poor kid. I think she was all about trying to recreate the bowl cuts that my brother and I sported for way too many years, so before she got to the bangs, Finn ran far away from her.... but the end result was so good!
