Charleston

We were long overdue to go check out our house- had to make sure the tenants hadn't destroyed it, and we were able to coincide the visit with a conference for Ahren.  Mom and Chuck joined us the second half of the week- so helpful to have two more sets of hands at the beach with the little ladies, and we were able to catch up with some of our buds.  It was really strange to go back to our first home- Mason and Dixie now gone, Finn and Charlotte in tow... the trip reminded us of what a great time in our lives living there was (yes, despite my constant complaining) and how much things have changed since.  We miss our friends there much (Gretchen, how did I not get any photos of Denny and Finn??), and the eating and beaches, too!

I have never seen a deer on the beach in my life.  Everyone ran, thinking he was rabid, and I grabbed my camera.

Spring Break

Whew... crazy six months it has been-  new baby, really great photo season, and just keeping up with Finn... I've really neglected keeping family and friends up to date... .but we are about to take a huge breather and get caught up on life and geared up for fall!
So spring break, way back in April... Finn had a week off of school, and we headed to Virginia so some family could meet Charlotte and we could catch up with friends.  The girls and I left mid week and spent a few nights in Richmond with Mom and Chuck and Summer, then we met Ahren in Charlottesville to spend the day with my bro and his family.  Dad met us there, and Hank got to meet his new baby cousin.  He was super excited.
We ended out the trip with a stay at the Tuskey house and an awesome beer tour through the mountains of Virginia... babies and everything.  I love that crew.

Easter Week

I'm getting a little caught up on things as we get into a bit of a routine around here!  So here comes Easter... filled with fun activities!  We had an Easter parade, and Easter egg hunt, and then a low key Easter Sunday just being together.  Finn struggled a bit with the concept of Easter egg hunts... the second she found out that an egg had chocolate in it, all bets were off, and she dropped everything to dive into the egg.  Not much for a competitor in that sense... chocolate took priority, for sure.

Eater Parade with friends!

On Mother's Day

These photos are a bit old... I think Charlotte maybe was a month old, possibly even younger, but I was waiting for a good time to get organized and post these pics, because I love them so much.  Finn struggled a bit with the arrival of her new baby sister, and this was one of the first times that she decided to not only be near Charlotte, but she was also smiling and seemed to even enjoy the closeness. These photos will be all over my house one day...
One reason I love this hobby of mine is that it allows me to capture so much of what these girls mean to me.  I told Ahren today that becoming a mother has been the most important and wonderful thing that has ever happened to me... despite the challenges.  I want to hold onto so many moments that occur with these precious little people and be able to freeze my time with them.  They're pretty cute!

Opening Day Part 3

As everyone knows, Ahren is obsessed with the Red Sox-  it's on an entirely unacceptable level, but I knew that going into our marriage, and I happen to love baseball, too, so no complaints... and he's sharing the love with his little ladies, so we're making it a tradition to take group photos every opening day.  Finn's first year is HERE, and her second year is HERE.  Woah.
